Building and creating our IT Change Request form. Creating the workflow for Jira.
This automation was designed to streamline the IT Change Request process by integrating Jira and Zapier to eliminate manual work and reduce errors. Using Zapier, I built a multi-path automation that reads Google Sheets entries and dynamically creates Jira tickets across multiple projects—including ITCR, DBA, and NoOps—based on team ownership and ticket type. In Jira, I customized the workflow to align with business needs, implementing conditional transitions that require approvals from Business, Technical, and Quality Approvers before a ticket can move to “Deployment Ready.” Once that transition occurs, an automation rule triggers the creation of a follow-up story in the DBA board, copying over all relevant issue details. This system ensured audit-friendly, structured deployment tracking and enabled non-technical teams to initiate requests confidently, knowing approvals and follow-ups were automatically managed.
